Refund on Baby Einstein Videos

If you are one of the countless parents who bought or used the Baby Einstein videos, you may be entitled to a refund from the company. The details of which can be found here:

I’ll have to admit, my wife and I had a few Baby Einstein videos that were received as gifts or hand-me-downs. Our firstborn son watched very little of them because I was aware of the American Academy of Pediatrics recommendations that children younger than age 2 do not receive any screen time. There is also some research that found that babies and toddlers who were exposed to TV between years 1-3 were more likely to have attention problems at age 7.

I’m not sure how the makers of the Baby Einstein videos were able to get away with this for so long. Their implicit (and sometimes explicit) message was that, if your baby watched their videos, his/her cognitive functioning would be enhanced. Funny thing is that there is absolutely no research to support this. I guess you could say it is a case of false advertising coupled with parents’ need to help their child to be the best that he/she can be.

So, if you own any Baby Einstein DVDs purchased between June 5, 2004, and Sept. 5, 2009, you are entitled of a refund of $15.99 per video (up to a max of 4) AND you don’t even need to have your receipt.
